This tweak is for a Windows XP machine. It will allow your PC to boot-up faster than the default settings.

Disclaimer: This is something that an experienced PC user should do. This tweak involves editing the Registry of the PC. The Ranger Station nor I take responsibility if you do not follow these steps and something in your machine is messed up.

Steps:
1. Click on Start
2. Click on Run
3. Type "regedit" in the Run box
4. Expand the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" area
5. Expand the "System" area
6. Expand the "CurrentControlSet" area
7. Expand the "Control" area
8. Click on "ContentIndex"
9. In the right side, double click on "Startupdelay"
10. When the box opens up, click on the area next to "Decimal"
11. Change the number to 40000
12. Select "Ok" to close the box
13. Restart your PC to check settings.

Enjoy.

Great

I haven't tried this one out but something like this is really awesome. My PC can only handle Windows XP because of a very low hardware I have. Windows 7 has a very high system requirements and I heard issues that there are lots of problems about it.

I just tried this and it worked...didn't notice any difference in browsing speed...may have even sped up a bit...

What would happpen if you lowered the number to, say, 20000?
