Recently I have noticed a clunking noise over bumps in the road from what sounds like the front of the truck. A few months ago my caliper bracket was a little loose and it sounds very similar to how that sounded. This time around I have gone under the truck several times and made sure everything is tight (it is). The noise goes away under braking, even slight braking. It sounds like it's originating from the front passenger wheel. Recently the front wheel bearings have started howling, so I ordered those up and will be installing them soon. I lifted the truck up and couldn't feel any slop in the pass. front wheel and it spun smoothly, but I got under the truck and punched it a few times to get this noise (see below). Only when punching the bottom of the tire, not the side.

Any ideas to what it could be? Ball joints? Shocks are 3 months old, as are calipers, caliper brackets, rotors and pads. All hardware is tight including manual 4x4 hub locknuts and rings, and lug nuts for the wheel. Thank you.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Instead of punching the tire, you may get better results by grabbing the tire and trying to push/pull it while watching for movement in various places. push top and pull bottom, then reverse. Watch to see what moves. Take the wheel off and do the same thing by trying to wiggle the rotor. If bearings or ball joints are causing that noise, I wouldn't drive it until they are replaced. With howling wheel bearings, I wouldn't drive it anyway.

Yup, took off the passenger wheel. Noticed slop in the lower ball joint, made the noise I have been hearing when I shook it back and fourth. Gonna get upper and lower ball joints and bearings done for both sides.

Glad you have a definite diagnosis. Congratulations. That's not a bad job to do.
