Hi everyone. I did a v8 swap from a 1998 ford Explorer 5.0 into a 2001 Ford ranger edge, I used the PATS and transceiver and ignition switch and engine harness from the Explorer, I have 55 psi at the fuel rail, I also checked the neutral safety switch PK/W and PK wire to make sure the pin was ok, and it was, My problem is the truck will not turn over, meaning it will not try to start, can someone please help me out here, Thank You

... engine harness from the Explorer ...
Did you ground the starter relay wire from the underhood electrical junction box? In the original application, the PATS function of the 2001 Ranger PCM supplied the ground for the starter relay but the 5.0L Explorer PCM does not perform that PATS function.

So, if you haven't done so already, simply cut the Explorer's Orange/Black wire near the 104-pin PCM connector, add a ring terminal to the part of the OR/BK wire that comes from the 42-pin connector and ground that ring terminal to the factory grounding point near the center of the firewall. If everything else is OK, the starter should work.

Dude!!! You are still the man with these trucks! Mine now has 96,000 miles. Thanks for all the help. Sorry to highjack, sounds like good advice for the OP here.

...cut the Explorer's Orange/Black wire near the 104-pin PCM connector...
Clarification:

There are two orange/black wires at the 104-pin connector. The one that needs to be cut goes to pin 19 of the 104-pin. Do not cut the orange/black to pin 37. Orange/black = orange insulation with black stripe.

I had a similar issue when dropping mine in. Swapped everything, did the wiring and boom, no starter engage. Mine was a damaged chassis side wire for the starter. Hit the s terminal with 12v when the key is on. If it catches and fires, your issue is the wire. If it turns over and you can't smell any fuel it's a pats issue. Curious, can you hook up to the ecm with a code reader?
