Hello,
This is my first post and I hope this is the correct area to do so in. Though to get down to it, I have a 2003 ranger, xlt 2WD with the 3.0. I am still new doing extensive repairs, and knowing what signs lead to, so after doing some research I feel I am left with no other choice but to post here.
Here recently when holding the gas pedal to maintain speed and doing minimum of 40 mph, after about 4-6 seconds the RPM will just drop about 500-700 RPM, after doing this if i press further down on the gas it hesitates for about 3-4 seconds then finally acts as though i re-applied the gas pedal and the RPM jumps and it picks up speed. There is no jolts or jumps with this happens, to passengers the cant even tell that something is going wrong. When the RPM does drop in order to resume maintaining speed or accelerate I have to completely let off the gas then reapply and it picks up like normal, once again no jolts or jumps.
I am really hoping this isnt meaning im needing a transmission overhaul but im not seeing many other options or people with my problem.
