I recently took my truck and had the CEL read. It is coming up as a P0500 or Speed Sensor. Now my question is this. I know or atleast pretend to know that if that is bad the speedometer will not work which it does not. The real question is will this also cause the odometer not to work? My mind is saying yes but inexperience has me questioning that.

Yes, odometer should stop also, but 1995 was the first year of the "speed sensor" so no speedometer cable.
So speedometer and odometer are electronic and could be fed from different circuits in the PCM, so if the problem is not at the speed sensor itself, then odometer could continue to work.
