I bought my 97 Ranger 3 years ago for $150 and have been using it at work only. Recently my carrier bearing started squeaking and when I finally got around to changing it I found it cut into my driveshaft. So I replaced the driveshaft and carrier bearing, then noticed the water pump leaking so I replaced that along with upper and lower hoses, replaced serpentine belt, rep plugs and wires, radiator cap, flushed cooling system, replaced tranny fluid, rep coil pack, new fuel pump, new gas tank because lock ring tabs were rotted off, new fuel tank straps, new fuel filler neck, new rear shocks, new Leaf spring bracket, new rear window, new windshield and now I need an axle bearing and while Im there Im replacing drums, wheel cylanders and brakes.oh and I replaced the tailgate. I have been working on this for two months now.

Don't have time to fix everything that needs done (still remaining is fixing the rear brakes, getting the dang throttle cable fixed, making a traction bar, and finding some more front tire clearance, and long arms up front) but first is repacking the wheel bearings, I hacked the bad side together with some spare parts but didn't replace the seal that is in bad shape so I'll do both sides tomorrow... The good news is that the transfer case seems to have fixed itself, it goes out of 4x4 without pulling the plug and pushing it out :)

Replaced radiator with one for a 4.0/withautotrans cooler. First step towards engine swap, but had to be done as plastic tank broke on original 21year old one. Will post pics and rad hose #'s for others that might be interested in doing something simular.

got a snarky receiver cover: "Excuse me for driving so close in front of you"

Not sure if it will sink in, but the receiver will certainly sink into a plastic bumper cover. :D

LOL, I like that. I like having an Edge 4x4 so that the receiver is in plain view, and at hood level, for anyone in a car that happens to be behind me. :D

replaced the turn signal flasher, checked my oil pan for loose bolts (leaks) and took a look at the shocks.... LR is leaking, so I added that to my list of things to do

Bought all the parts to replace a deleted A/C system. Replaced bent rear bumper. Replaced missing spare tire carrier. Replaced missing interior rear view mirror. Replaced broken window motor gear in drivers door. Tune up. New belts. Readjusted all the valves to see if the rocker arm clatter would be reduced. Put in my first full tank of gas and got 16.4MPG.

I replaced the 31 year old dash in my ranger, with a newer (almost perfect one) that I found at the JY. The original one was so cracked; it was a pretty good example of how tectonic plates work.
