have a 89 BII EB with a 2.9 and a a4ld+BW1354 elec shift transfer case. Have strange electrical issues and strange fuel pressure problems. Tested the compression and it was very good. Sometimes on the highway or randomly it will die, and it has absolutely zero fuel pressure, and none comes out when depressing the schrader valve, no big spray. Has anyone had any similar problems?

Check your grounds. The fuel pump ground is to the cab, next to the inertia sw. So a bad engine to cab ground will cause the fuel pump to stop. The grounds are usually, battery to engine and frame, engine to cab, Cab to computer, etc. Funny electrical problems are many times a missing, loose, bad ground. Of course, it could also be a bad wire to the pump or a bad inertia sw.
