Ive got a 07 ranger fx4 lvl2 supercab and the door ajar light wont go off. What could be the problem. All the doors shut fine. Is there a way to bypass it. I cant use my dome light cause it will stay on lol. Are there any switches in the back doors

Since nobody else is piping up there is switches on the door somewhere. Some of the later Ford's have a pushrod type setup at the front of the door that activates the switch.

To get by with you should be able remove the domelight bulb so it doesn't drain your battery.

yes, I saw this but skipped over it because I've never seen this setup...but one member did post something a while ago saying that they had the same problem...

here is a link to the thread...

I just realized that this was a "door ajar" light problem with a dome light stuck on...

I'm hoping that the fix for the dome light will also fix the door ajar light on the cluster...:)

My 00 did the same thing. The switch, on that year, is on the latch mechanism inside the door.
I sprayed contact cleaner down the latch and it cured it, for now I'm sure.
I believe there is a write up in the tech articles
