Comparing a 1000 candlepower H7606 halogen sealed beam bulb to a 1440 raw lumen (1200 effective lumen) LED lamp assembly.

I type 1000 candlepower into the online converters and it spits back 1000 lumens... is that right? Why have two names for the same thing? :icon_confused:

I searched on candlepower vs lumens and came up with this link...which was interesting...

http://www.flashlightuniversity.com/lumens-vs-candlepower/

I never thought about it much since I figured there was a standard...but there actually wasn't until recently (article dated 2012)...

Headlamps probably fit in with the ANSI standard somewhere...

The bulb maybe since they have been around forever but I only have the vendors page for the LED to go off of. I haven't seen any rating other than candlepower for the bulb though.
