Besides removing rear driveshaft, there isn't really anything else to be done. Just make sure the front hubs are unlocked and the rear diff is full of fluid.

Does it have a manual transfer case? If so, just put it in Neutral and tow it to your heart's content. :icon_thumby:

yepp^^ thats all you need to do. My 89 bronco II was towed behind a motor home for many thousands of miles by its first owners just like this. I still have the tow bar on the front of the thing. There is also a harness wired into the front so that it plugs into your trailer light plug and activates your lights appropriatly.

when I was doing the MASSIVE bumper to bumper overhaul
on my Supercab I wired it to be flat towed.

I have a trailer light connector on the FRONT to go with
my RV towbar bracket.

I rewired my taillights to be run via relays because I was
tired of incinerating the little tan wire with the white stripe
that runs from the fuse block to the headlamp switch
(Marker light circuit) EVERYTIME I towed my 16' dovetail trailer.

most RV supplies sell a set of diode isolators that allow the light
circuits to be powered from a second source without "Back-powering"
the towed vehicle from the towing vehicle.

Those are installed between my switches and the relays.
(under the hood)

I have a manual T-case so just hook it up and pop it into neutral
and it's ready to go.

It was all installed and has been used exactly twice since September 2007.
Once to flat tow my Ranger to WYOMING from Pennsylvania
(total trip was 2130miles, we did not take the most direct route)
and again to tow my ranger home after I snapped my transmission
output shaft.
