4r44e 2000 wont fit in 99 ranger 4r44e

I just got my transmission today. i have about in but the fly wheel is holding it back almost but the transmission wont slide forward at all when we have the torque converter seeded what could it be the fly wheel or the converter ?


99 ranger v6 3.0L 2wd tranny 4r44e
have a 2000 tranny 4r44e

any ideas what it could be?

IF the torque converter is hitting the flex plate you do not have the converter fully engaged in the trans, With the converter fully seated you will have to pull it forward (~3/8") to bolt up to the flex plate when the trans is bolted to the engine. Slowly spin the converter and lightly press in on the converter it should move in twice and be setting way back in the trans case.
