Just swap the whole front subframe from a Sable/Taurus in... Make a FWD Ranger. It'd be like the early 80's Volkswagen Rabbit/Caddy pickup. It would probably handle better too. haha I'm sure that'd be really difficult, but youd get an A++ for originality.

the 3.0 in the lincoln LS is not, in fact, the duratec motor. it is a dohc motor but the firing order is different and the transmission bolt pattern is quite different. the lincoln LS is basically a jaguar with a lincoln nameplate. same with the newest body style of the thunderbird. dont mess with that motor, it is a piece of crap and they tend to break easily, just as easily as the 3.9 v8 that you can get in them. pieces of jaguar european crap.

Yes. I saw a pic on here, I think it was posted by PlumCrazy, that was a 3.0 M5OD bolted to a DOHC 3.0.

I don't think I've ever seen a 3.0 duratec bolted to an M5OD. You weren't thinking of this pic were you?]

That's a 3.0 DOHC but not a duratec.

An SHO v6 out of a Taurus. Either a 3.0 or 3.2. Same bellhousing bolt pattern as the rangers 3.0.

Um, yes please.

Ever since I first stumbled across this thread I have been wanting to try it. My B2 was my orignal intended platform, but I just finished a 4.0 swap there. Not so say I might not go the 3.0 route down the road, just for S&G.

Looking around on some Taurus sites, it seems like they have to swap transmissions to go from Vulcan 3.0 to Duratec 3.0. That means it's pretty unlikely that they share a trans bolt pattern. Just a heads up.

My credo
it is easier to fix and understand than "her"
rob most of the shit out of a jag or ls lincoln. or the mazda 6 stuff.

never checked the compatibility with the duratech ranger transmission, but the way a ranger starter is on those critters, wouldnt work with a v6 anyway.

there are options for t5 adaptation. so you could figure a way to run the ford auto with that.

i like these better then the yamahas, but you need to do some scroungin to get it together.

Hi. I have a duratec 30 from 98 sable. I'm going to put a RWD transmission on it. Did they make the 2000 lincoln LS in manuals? And will the 2000 LS eng harness and pcm work with the 98 duratec? And has anyone solved the mystery of mating a duratec to a ranger transmission? Thank you
