Reading all the information I can find and the tech pages, is it correct to assume the manual T case interchanges as easily as the electric T cases with the splines typical to my 93 4wd?

I see them listed on Craigslist now and then but I'm never quite sure which is what.

Yep, on a '93 it is a bolt in, you need the T case and linkage from a '90 to '97 Ranger, '91-94 Explorer or Mazda Navajo. There were manual transfer cases on newer Rangers but they used a different front output flange for the CV front driveshaft. You don't want anything earlier than '90 as they will be a 1350 not a 1354 and the front driveshaft won't be the same...

I've noticed on many, there is no linkage which is harder to find than the transfer case apparently.
