ok so the gf picked up a 63 mercury m-250 this morning. they were only built in canada. oakville ontario. only an hour and a half away from where we live, which i think is pretty cool.

from what i understand its like a f250. but ive heard mercury pickups were actually there own deal until 1968 then they became rebaged fords. but what does anyone else know about it? im pretty sure its a 300ci and i know a 4 speed manual.

ill get pics up as soon as i put them on the computer

they were only made in canada i know that much. and considering its 48years old i think its in damn good shape its this guys uncles who died. my gf is the second owner and the truck came with the original bill of sale.
its been in storage for the last 30-40 years. unfortuantly because it is rare and so old its pain in the ass trying to find anything out about it.

it will be getting all new paint back to original color the interiors in good shape flor pans being replaced (only under the pedals) and then thats about it

and 7.5 stx its also the first one ive ever seen as well

Damn Good find!!

seems to be in pretty good shape, i mean it doesnt look rotted at all, just looks like surface rust for the most part..

it is mostly surface rust haha. bed floor used to be wood. now its soil and theres a hole in the floor around the pedals but if what i remember is right did they not use a wooden access panel there? the seats not even ripped. so the interior is staying the way its meant to be. just paint and whatever it needs to run and drive then its finished

does anyone know what these trucks go for normally? who wants to guess what she got this for?

On the earlier Fords, that access panel was to the brake master cylinder. Don't see one on the firewall so that's probably what's down there. Lots of good sites for the F-100. Think the major difference between the Ford and Mercury was different trim and such. Good luck, them things are "Built Ford Tough"

That's definitely not a 240 or 300 c.i. as the distributor and plugs are on the wrong side. I'm not great at IDing them, but it's probably one of the small ford sixes such as the 200 or 250.

Good eye there 7secs. In the US 1963 is when they made the switch to the 240/300. Even the really small 170 ci had the carb/air cleaner on the passenger side. What is shown might be a left over 232 (223), who's dislexic, or bad memory. Good buy no matter what.

KOOL find!

I've seen the Mercury trucks before, but didn't realize that they were still bein built into the 60's.:icon_confused:

:icon_idea:Standard F100 series stuff of those years should interchange with the exception of the badges. Those you may have to rechrome & detail yourself after chromin.

Keep us posted!:icon_cheers:

that is pretty cool, get a carb 302 to drop in and it would be gorgeous or a big block if your not worried about gas

nope im not wrecking this one. its going back to all original and im paying someone to do the body the proper way. if it was in worse shape i have a 460 sitting on my garage floor along with a c6 i beilieve. but its just in too good of shape to wreck.

if i threw a v8 in the truck itd be no different then all those other old trucks with v8s in them. dont get me wrong still cool. but im a canadian this truck was originally built a little of an hr away from my house. they were only built in canada id like to keep it in its true form
