i have the explorer a4ld, 1993, in my b2 along with the motor and t/case

my truck likes to shift out of overdrive doing 70 or so and then the check engine light comes one.. sometimes it will shift back in after the light goes off.. does this make sense? its driving me up the wall when trying to drive on the interstate....

possibly vehicle speed sensor issue? or something else?

My 87 BII A4LD was doing something similar. I mistakenly took it to a "profesional" who worked on it all summer long (3+ mths). $3000 and an all new parts list later I gave up and brought it home. I talked to other mechanics the whole time who couldn't tell me anything.

I gave up, yanked the rebuilt POS out and swapped in the M50D. (I knew I shoulda done that in the first place.) MUCH BETTER

Any one want to buy a "rebuilt" A4LD and all related parts?

I remember reading something about a 'overdrive shift solenoid' ? and bypassing/controlling it with manually with a switch.? I'm not sure where I read that but it might give something to do a search on.
Good luck,

Richard
