I read through the tech article on alternators. It focuses on the alternator options for different years of explorers/rangers. What it does not say is which year alternators are interchangeable.
I suspect a bad alternator on my 1992 4.0 OHV. Will every 4.0 ohv alternator bolt on to my alternator bracket regardless of what year it is? What about 4.0 sohc? What about 4.6 alternators? Am I limited to a 91-94 alternator?
