Hi all, this is an amazing forum! Im looking at buying a 92 ranger stx with the 4.0 ohv. The seller says the timing "needs to be reset" I asked him how he knows this and his response was: "Do you know how the timing is off? Yes, I was working with a dumb mechanic replacing the throttle body and air intake manifold with higher performance parts to squeeze so more performance out of it and he hooked up the sensor to a intake that wasn't even in the system and cranked it which caused it to jump a couple of teeth." Does this make any sense to anyone? Doesn't seem possible to me. Does anyone have any ideas what else could have gone wrong during his, uh, experiment? Thanks.
