Hello,

I bought a 1995 3.0 extended cab 5 speed manual Ranger and the heads are cracked and the bottom end has a bad bearing. I have been having troubles finding a donor motor and the best deal I can find is a 3.0 out of a 1993. My problem is the 1993 has a distributor and my truck does not. I know they are both Vulcan motors, but what all will have to be changed/salvaged from my 95 over to the 93 engine?

Besides the Cam Syncho, it will fit fine in distributor hole, you will also need the Crank Position(CKP) Sensor and balancer with "tone ring" from '95 engine.

CKP sensor took the place of the distributor for spark timing, Cam Synchro with Cam position sensor was added to fine tune the fuel injectors.

There were only 2 cranks used but they are interchangeable, so '95 balancer and tone wheel will fit on '93.
Not sure about the CKP sensor mounting though, might have to change timing chain cover.

Tone wheel looks like a gear, 35 teeth with one missing tooth, the one missing tooth gap, tells computer when #1 piston is at top dead center
