Failing is easy. Everyone can do it.
Haven't been here much due to being on Bronco forums...(sorry all.....)

This came across my news feed and I was stunned.

I am very glad you're okay. The truck that quite a few people "poopoo" did a wonderful job of saving your life. The fact the passenger compartment is still in "okay" shape (compared to what it could have been) is a testament to a lot:

You're skills, The skills of the Semi driver that I'm pretty sure didn't intend to start the day like this... And the design elements of safety built into the Rangers.

The stars aligned 100% and all things considered, This was a "Good" day.

The Ranger can be replaced as others have mentioned. Your life can not. I am very happy again that your injuries-albeit painful and will take a while to heal... You'll bounce back from this and get back in the saddle again quick!

Best Regards, and God Bless!

Steve-

(For this...I'll not do my usual S- exit....)

Yikes! I'm surprised that cab in recognizable at all...

8 broken bones and he climbed out of it... Good luck with your recovery!

You were blessed on that day, Will!

My sister mocked me for getting a Ranger. It had a 4 out of 5 star safety rating for '99, I believe higher than any other compact truck at the time.

Wow that is crazy! I've never seen a truck crumpled that bad. Glad to hear everyone is ok. I always think of things as "it could have been worse" and this is definitely the case. Good luck and stay positive.

Thanks guys.

I got to use the fly joke while lying in the ER.

My brother asked me what was going through my mind the split second I saw the truck grill towering over me.

"My ass."

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Glad you came through it as well as you did. Hope you have a speedy and full recovery.

Would have been a good time to pre-dial 911.

" hello. 911. What's you emergency?"

"Hey. Y'all. I'm about to need you. Listen to this...."

Sumbitch!! I can’t believe anyone walked out of a truck that was hurt that badly. Glad you made it, man.

Very best wishes for a speedy recovery, brotha.

I was never scared. Once the car that hit me pointed me into the grill of the semi I started cursing and drove that bitch flaming into the runway. I felt the WHACK and then I was climbing out of the passenger door.

Glad you are on the mend. :icon_thumby:
