hey all,

been slowly building a 302 ranger from a 1983 2.8 carbed truck.

progress to date - off frame box, cab frame being welded to box front end to help control. all front end will be rebuilt.

cab being semi disassembled for paint and build up.

engine 302 from 68 Fairlane, bored, built with custom ground cam to spin 5500, gt40p heads, topped with edlebrock 600 and old school offy intake, reverse hood cowl 2 inch lift, will be breathing through custom shop built headers when the motor is in frame and trailed to the shop for fitment.

The Question for this post is:

At the floor on passenger side of the cab is a wired in brain box (computer) I need to know what this controls and if there are any wires connected to anything i need to keep. I am not dealing with any pollution crap nor needing any injector stuff. just wanting to know if there are ignition issues connected to the box.

I know there are many guys here who have built this type of truck before!!! any input or links to your builds will be fully accepted.

thanks in advance.

can include pics if needed.

Agreed -- that box is probably either the original ignition or emissions control system. Won't be missed by your carb'd 302.
