Red face Options for my old stereo

I have a 2000 ranger xlt and it has a cd player slot with a cassette player underneath. the cassette player is large and all the buttons are pretty massive. The whole unit takes up quite a bit of space. What can I put in the place of this unit? I'd prefer a touchscreen monitor preferably nothing "in din"

You would have been better off asking this question in the "audio & video" forum a few down from this one.

"din" is mounting style. The Ranger is double din, most aftermarket stereos are single din. Sounds like you are looking for a Double Din aftermarket touch screen. They exist but most people convert to single din with retractable screen, they make adapter kits for this.

There are a lot of people with a lot more audio system knowledge than me. If they spot you question in here, I'm sure someone will speak up sooner or later. Well considering that it 2am eastern it'll probably later than sooner.

Pioneer makes a good double din unit that's touch screen with blue tooth and navi. Depending on your budget I would stay dd rather then going single din of you want a touch screen. There arnt many options for a single. But the options there are fall into two categories. Nice and expensive or cheep and unreliable no real middle ground. Check out sonicelectronix.com and you should find one that does what you want

I've got one from MP3Playerstore.com

IN432B Not touch screen, but everything works great! There are several models that do have just about everything one could want.

When I first installed it in my Ranger we tried the DVD '300' in it. The unit mimics 5.1 sound and my son and I were amazed by that feature so we sat in the Ranger, in the garage, drank beer and watched '300'! The sound separation and quality were better than my home system!
