How do I remove the passengers side motor mount on my 99 2wd 3.0 I can't find anywhere to get to it under the cross member. I am putting a 302 in the truck. Thanks

Dunno. There's an autozone repair guide that has diagrams of all the various ranger engine mounts. There's nuts on the underside of the crossmembers to unbolt the mounts

You've got to remove the front springs to got to the lower engine mount bolts.

Not as bad a job as it sounds but it's a bit of an effort.

Support the frame on stands.

Pop off the tie rod end and sway bar link.

Loosen the lower control arm bolts.

Remove the ABS sensor and brake caliper and shock absorber.

Support the lower control arm with a hydraulic jack and disconnect the upper control arm at the ball joint.

Lower the control arm till the spring fully relaxes and you can remove it.

18mm socket for the engine mount nut.

There's a tab on the lower control arm that helps retain the spring when you start to reinstall.

Be careful! A huge amount of energy is stored in that spring. The potential for SERIOUSLY bad things to happen is always present when working with them.

win is absolutely correct, but...
laid on my back under my truck for awhile on the weekend, looked at the same nuts you're talking about (while I was waiting for the guy up top to hand me tools to reattach exhaust flanges) and, yeah, I see the problem.
I stand to be labeled redneck for this but if you've already got the engine out I'd be tempted to cut slots in the cross member to get at these nuts, and then weld cover plates over the holes once the new mounts were in.
