I believe the problem primarily lies is in getting crank power to the wheels through a 4R70W AWD setup.

Ok a little update is needed.

After reading about the 4.6 swap in the Tech Library, I have decide to revisit/entertain the idea of the 4.6.

After talking with Pete for a while today, I have up with a very basic parts list

  1. Mustang Cobra SVT Terminator motor (this one depends on width since it is a dual overhead cam motor)
  2. Mountaineer AWD complete drive train
  3. F150 4.6 trans w/ transfer case
  4. Corresponding engine harness and ECU depending on motor selection

Decisions decisions decisions :dunno: :dunno: :dunno:

Well, Kevin and Ryan on trucks (power block) did it, and I remember someone else modding the ac box for the 4.6 dohc. I'm actually considering transplanting a mark 8 drivetrain into my sport Trac...

I might do that. I think a Gen 1 with a 4.6 laying frame would be sweet.

I agree, do it to another ranger. Your still not done with what you have now. But if you are going to do it to a gen 1 all going to do it to a 4wd or 2wd?

I would do it to a 2wd and finish the awd you were doing to your current one.
