Can't wait for tomorrow, get to work more on the zombie. Getting flip kit and drop springs soon from local seller. Got another bed I might swap, just depends on how bad the original bed looks. (Loaded with crap for years sitting). Stoked, it might be coming home soon. Since I don't own a compressor with air tools it's still sitting at the folks place. Plus they live in the sticks and I live in the small neighborhood with not much yard lol.

Love finding such a long list of disappointments! :icon_rofl:

Bed cleared out, yay the rust ate through!

Soak bed bolts soak!

Got my helper today, he was driving it while we were taking the bed off.

Needle scaler FTW! :icon_welder:

Throwing down some paint to help reduce slow rust. Will probably go back over it with something better.

So, i didn't take any pictures of the gas tank but. .. Yea it's fubar 2 holes of fair sizes. One being below the sending unit on the slope so for the 8+ years all the rain washed crap into the tank... yay! So 4 gallons of gas plus 8 years of crap doesn't really make an engine run to well. Even the sending unit wire harness crumbled. Posts corroded to almost nothing.:headbang:

Can't wait to get a tank and sending unit and harness to get this guy rolling. Lowering parts coming in this week. Thanks anonymous Craigslist guy for not shafting me!
Oh if anyone needs the M5OD-R1 bushing kit, I got excited and ordered one but found out I have a TK 5, guess that will be a pull from the junkyard.

Dsvox, lol challenges are when you have plenty of time to work on them. Although it is moving along faster than what I had though.

Thanks Dsvox

Another great list of challenges for this go round.
Got the Pistons on the calipers compressed where they had been sitting. Found a free gas tank, but it's from a 2nd Gen and much larger than the prior. Also the sending unit is wired different. Full is empty and visa versa. Stopped with that and turned to the rear for the flip kit. Went in perfectly and gave a nice 4"drop.

Before

After

27" from ground to top of the frame before. Nice 23" after.

That's it for this round.

Well from back to front, since today was a late start day I figured I would play around in the cab. Took out the bench seat and started tearing out the old rotten rubber flooring. The rockwool underneath was heavy with sand, dirt, moisture, rust, rot, crap. Looked terrible.

Pass and

Driver

Love the wire wheel!

Bam! Zero to hero, ...or close

Next week will be the front drops, got the camber bushings in last week. My cousin might drop by and see what's going on. He had a killer 3rd Gen ranger, sold it and wish he never did. I'll post some pics, full time paint and body guy so he was always messing with it. Also got a B2 sitting around some where needing to get finished lol.

He just painted a nice looking "Shelby", did most the body and all the paint on it.

Anyone in Columbia SC need some paint work done this guy is like the Duke with a paint gun!

Only one major challenge this time Drsvox! Ha. Putting in the belltech drops and the camber bushing.

Cut out part of the plastic covering to get to the top shock nut

That's a big nut:icon_twisted:

Taking off one of the nuts for the camber bushing it seised up and everything would spin when turning the nut. Talk about a pain!

All done! Nice

Belltechs in.

Doesn't seem like much of a drop but I guess it still needs to settle.

Put down some deadening material as well.

Had some escort seats sitting around but I think they are to tall for what I want.

My cousin keeps hanging sweet airbrushing/paint jobs in front of me. He does some wicked stuff.

My cousin's ranger. It was nasty!

So the edit is because I was playing with photobucket and after you edit the photos they are larger when posted. Everyone likes bigger photos! :D

I used Moog 2* bushings and as you can see almost no negative camber, of course it needs to be shaken up to settle.

Went looking for some seats the other day, found some in a 85 Mercury Lynx that look pretty promising and clean too.

Clean them, hit em with some duplicolor black vinyl and fab spray and blamo should look good.

Yea this one was pretty well crapped on for a while. No one loved it or took care of it. Just drove it's guts out. Everyone keeps telling me, but it's just a ford ranger, I can understand a <insert favorite classic here> but why a ranger? Lol I laugh every time.

Rangers maybe the new classics, Ford doesn't make them anymore and people still want them. The first gen Rangers are old enough to be classics. I remember when the the first gens were new and it was along time ago. Makes me feel old.

My '88 registered for antique tags as of last year when i plated up, Ive heard "Dammmmmn he got the antique Range" at least half a dozen times since. Was my every day driver up until last month, 70+ miles daily. Was gonna drive it til it broke before i started working on it, but nothing ever broke!

Did you adjust your Moog bushings all the way out to 2* on install?

Update but no pictures, spent 4 hours in the parts yard because the jerks shipped off the Lynx I was going to grab the seats from:bawling: WTH! Oh well got two passenger tempo seats in there now. I must have grabbed the wrong seat brackets because these from a 93 ranger don't match up to my floor pan. Glad pull a part has a 30 day warranty! Also grabbed up a 130 amp alternator from a 3.8 thunderchicken!:yahoo:

Was a long weekend going to the families places announcing our baby girl. Woo!
