Go this 88' from a buddy. Needed something to drive in the winter and in the mountains. Little rough but just about everything works and engine sounds great.

One problem and I seached for it so if this is repost sorry.

coolant is dumping out...leaks down back/passenger side right above and down oil pan almost. Read it may be a frost plug(core plug) any other options?
No coolant in oil or vice versa.

Anyone have a pic/diagram of where frost plugs are?

Thanks,

Heres a pic, not a viking fan, friend was.

heres a image of a new 2.9l block with heads
the two circular plugs on the front are the freeze plugs there is also plugs on your lower block
the ones in back are most likely bad
shouldnt be two hard to fix

get a mirror and try to locate the leak

They are called core plugs. They have nothing to do with freezing. But anyway, with these engines you have to check carefully for head gasket leaks. They are known to leak and they develop the leaks in a number of ways. So when looking for a core plug leak, check where the head meets the block as well.

Core heater was leaking and there was a rusted out freeze plug. Fixed both and now weep hole on water pump is spilling. Looks like water pump is gone too.

Got to drive it for awhile today though since its just leaking a bit, excited to get it done.
