Hi guys, what is the best headers for 1993 drop 3-4'' ranger 2wd v8 conversion, with t5 mustang? I am not certain if I go installed a t5, c4 or aod transmission...but I tend for one t5.

best quality brands: James duff entreprises, advance adapters, hedman headers, hooker headers, L&L, total performance

james duff offer long runner design headers produces more torque than manifolds or shorty headers. 2wd requires steering shaft modification. will not work with an AOD, C-6 or gt-40P heads.

advance adapters have shorty headers, 16 gauge

hedman headers have shorty too, 14,16,18 gauge

hooker offer long runner design headers, will no fit Dart windsor head, 18 gauge

L&L are not available for my year

total performance, i don't find the information or website

can you help me make a choice

this is hooker engine mount, i think that it are not very popular so They are needed the installed with Hooker header, can you give me more info about this engine mount and on the compatibility of the engine mount of quite the companies with regard to the headers. (Example: advance adapters with james duff headers and vice versa).

thanks!

How custom do you want to get? I use BBK long tubes from a '94-'95 mustang. But they don't "drop in". James Duff headers have tiny primaries (1.5") and have a reputation for poor fitment. I'm not a big fan of shorties, but I will agree that they are an improvement from manifolds.

Headers are like opinions. Everybody's got one.
(or, somethin' like that!)
What I like, and what you like, can be very different.
What works for me may not work for you.
Do your homework, and choose what works for you and,
satisfies your conversion and pocketbook.
For us to be different and even dissagree, is OK.
I used Patriot Headers, but not many do.

Mine are no-name (that I'm aware of). Came from eBay.
Shelby tri-Y headers for '65-70 Mustang.

They're chrome, and cost $150

Fit perfect. They clear the frame, starter, belhousing, clutch slave and steering with ease. I trimmed a slight corner of the motor mount plate (while on the stand, stock fox vert/ sn95 5.0 mount), less than 1/4".

Here's the mount I trimmed:

Here's an underneath view:

Put my O2 sensors in the headers, as well:

None of the above. This thread sounds suspiciously like it may have been started by mxracer.:icon_twisted:

Fitable in a ranger with a 351 or 302, and just how fitable? I just found a running 83 ranger with a 351/AOD for less than 1K thats not a rust bucket basket case but it has iron manifolds.

I'm curious to know cause fox 351 headers are easy to get and most have 1-3/4" primaries

Summit, Jegs or about ten other places have them, most Mustang suppliers carry them.
