I have a 01 ranger 4.0. The other day I sat in a parking lot for an hour with my engine running with the air conditioner on. When I pulled out of the parking lot my check engine light came on. Nothing changed with the way it was running. About a week later it started to idle like it had a huge cam in it. It never cut off, but just dipped down real low in the rpm's. We tried spraying ether around to find a vacum leak. The engine revved up when we sprayed it towards the bottom of the intake manifold on the passengers side, but we could not find a leaky hose. I then cleaned the IAC. It made it worse, so I ordered a new one. Just put that on and nothing has changed. still idles terribly, but it runs fine when its up around 3k rpm. What should I do. thanks for any help.
