Jeebus, thats a big 'ploder. I gotta say I am a fan of the budget builds, especially one this big!:icon_thumby:. Just curious, why the stipulation to remove everything once the comp is done......I've raced classes with claim values, to keep budgets similar, but I just dont get that one.....Canada 'Ey...

Awesome build man!

Thanks,

I'm a steel fabricator and with the nice econo in the crapper thing, I have some extra down time at work. There's still small jobs that come in, and I'm needed occasionally throughout the day, so when I'm, not needed, I play.

As far as the take out what you brought in, kinda a keep our land clean thing. There was much carnage, and some of the trucks didn't make it alive. Basicly, if you drove it there, and it's in peices, your still sposed to take it away with you.

I unfortunatly didn't make the event. I'm getting used to failure. I wound up spending 42 hours on it for the last weekend push and eventually gave up due to wiring, and not sleeping for the weekend. I was starting to get really dumb. Not a good time to do wiring.

As it sits now, I have the ignition system figured out, and just need to intrigate the exploder wiring into the new system, mainly, bypass all the interlocks and safety systems. Gonna have to figure out how to put 2 compressors on this thing. One for the ac, one for on board air. Yes, i'm gonna have air conditioning.

Now that the cheap truch challange part is dead, might just have to put some better tires on her now.

looks like the rear pinnion angle needs some work, neat build though for sure.

that rear wishbone setup is different, not your typical 4link type setup. how can it flex being setup that way?? be curious to see this on a ramp. looks tough on those boggers also.

You do know that generally, the people who hang their off road toys from the garage ceiling ride mountain bikes, right? :D

I'm liking the build! I might have missed it somewhere in the thread, but what's the status on the motor? still running the 5.8?

^ HAHAHAHA. True story...

Anyway, don't know if you're still hangin' around here or not, but that is one sweet budget build. And it's from Kelowna even! First time I've seen it, anyway. Would also like to know status on the engine, and even to come take a look at the dang thing!

Well we missed the deadline, and being the patient person I am, got pissed off at the motor and chucked it into the back corner of the yard. Well, we now have the motor I wanted in the first place. 460, running 10.5:1, mild cam, and with a zf5 with some 3 ton rockwells. Back to building.
