Well, here's another question.

Would running 33" tires on stock bronco ii axles be pushing them a little to far?
Would 31" or 32" be a better choice?

What's your axle tag? A lot of people run big tires on stock axles. If it's D7 or 47 you have 4.10 gears and should be fine, 44 or D4 then you have 3.73 gears and you might be okay. If it's anything other than that it's a no go. Your gears would be too low (same as my ranger IIRC) to run anything larger than 30, and it will suck with most anything bigger than 28" tires.

D-28's can usually run up to a 33 without breaking too much. The real problem (like koda said) is gearing. If you have 27's and 3.45 (my current setup) a 31 will require 4.11 gears to maintain stock performance, so you need to think about that too.

I don't know what the gearing is yet.
Actually, I don't even have one yet.
I've just been scanning craigslist for alittle while, there is one that I like the looks of, It just depends on if I can scroung up the money for it.

Could you get it stock with the gears you mentioned?
Obviously I still have a lot to learn, but I do know the importance of slow first gear, especially on tight wooded trails.

4.10 gears, which is the closest Ford ever used to a 4.11, did come stock in some Rangers, mostly 4--cylinder units, but some 6's with tow package and such.

Run 33x10.5's instead of 33x12.5's or wider, and don't punch it with the wheel cranked. You'll more than likely be ok.

If you can find a late-1990 BII with the stock D35 front axle, 33s would be no problem at all on that truck. The D28 however I wouldn't trust with over a 31.

I ran 10.5 33s for quite a while with 4.0 5 speed and a locker.It really went pretty good but I would wear a lot of U-Joints out in the 28 if I 4 wheeled a lot.Ive been careful though like when i'm spinning in the snow and hit dry dirt you have to let off with big bite or break outer axles.

Asking for trouble? Or maybe not..
