So this is just the rear set up....

It has explorer 1998 4 leaf springs, belltec 6400 drop shackles, and 2 degree pinion shims (i think i put it in right..thick side of wedge in front)

It only gave me a 2.25 inch raise in the rear... AND the trans is not in the truck (being rebuilt) so it's prob more like 1.75" to 2" I was under the impression it should be like 2.5" to 3"??? :annoyed:

I'll be making front spring perch shims on my break lathe from some old hubs we had at work. I figure I measure center of wheel fender to ground on rear and front and make the shim a little thicker>???

Rear 34.25" to ground

Front was 32" to ground

So i'd make a 2.5" spacer???? and trim as need be?:icon_confused:

depends if the pinion angle is to far up or down...shackles put the angle way up, but generally yes the shim goes the other way

For correct side of shackle, just go off how your stock one was. I put mine in backwards lol. Who cares. I don't think it matters too much.

personally id make them a bastard pack, get a new center pin, cut the ends off the main leaf from the old leaf pack, that will give u a bit more while keeping flex

well the beefier leafs (explorer) and the lift shackles changes the angle of the pinion pointing its driveshaft mounting plate closer to the belly of the truck.. the point of the shims it to bring it back closer to stock so i'd figure it would have to go with the thick part in the front to bring the pinion back down closer to a normal angle.
