Having trouble with my 1988 B2 transmission, it up-shifts fine, but can't hardly get it to down-shift! Had a clutch kit installed, but it still doesn't work right. Any suggestions of what I can check next, or do I just need a whole new transmission? Thanks for any help and advice!

Slave cylinder or its low on fluid maybe? Was the throw-out bearing replaced with the clutch?

I'm with Brutus, the clutch kit wouldn't have fixed that unless it had a new slave in it. I'd put my money on worn synchros.

I wouldn't worry about it too much honestly. Downshifting isn't nearly as important as the upshift, unless you have brake issues, at which point you have other issues.
