rpm stuck at 3000 rpm till i do a complete stop when clutch depress. Be sure to have no vacuum leak. Dont replace sensor for fun. Alot of people on post said they change iac,ect,dpfe,egr,mag,iat,ect... and seem not working and finally put an trigger switch to put iac valve off when problem occur.. First of all if u have replace a sensor and the problem continue, the sensor was good. Lot of people change the iac 3-5 time on her truck and seem to come back each time.
1-the pcm receive data from tps iat and maf sensor to control air and fuel mixture.
2-The iac valve is control by the pcm and she is in Relationship with the tps
3-More u press on pedal,more the % of the iac will e higher, so when when u r wot the iac valve is open at 99 %.
4-On my truck my problem is that my tps send the signal that my throttle plate is half open when its fully close, so the iac valve is at 70 % open.
5-Due to this fault signal send the pcm act like he have a vaccuum leak, he send the signal to injected more gaz and result in a anoying high rpm till u make a stop when clutch depress.
6-When u come to a stop the pcm received a signal from Wheel speed sensor that u r at 0 mph and said to iac to come back to idle % (between 23 % and 33 % depending if ur engine is hot or cold).With the scanner u will see that iac is at idle % and that your tps signal voltage is stuck at more than 1.00 voltage (mine was stuck at 2.13v on 3rd gear)
7-Whenever if u go reverse or forward at the moment ur truck will speed up the rpm will jump because the pcm received a faulty singal from tps and command iac to open. (mine stop freaking when engine achieve its normal temperature).
I hope that my diagnostic will solve ur freaking rpm problem.
