Here's the deal I have a Bronco II with the 6" sky jacker lift with all drop brackets and hinges. Was looking to put larger lift in 8" coils instead was wanting to know if anyone knows if I can use the old components with the new coils or if I will need to re-work the old components a bit to work.

Looking to fit 35's under it with no issues and not really wanting to do a body lift.

Any info would be great thanks

IMO, you'd be better off going with the body lift.

A BII isn't heavy enough to compress the 8" coils enough for the frontend to align properly on 6" drop brackets, and putting longer brackets on tends to aggravate the steering into a mess that will wipe your tires clean down to the cords in no time (not to mention will handle like ass).

Fortunately a 2" bodylift doesn't look bad on a BII if you match the bumpers to it. The gap between the frame and body is not near as noticeable as it would be under the pickup bed of a Ranger. An often overlooked bodylift benefit is more room around the transmission and driveline (makes servicing it a snap). The other thing is your CoG isn't raised quite as much as if you put the additional 2" lift into the suspension itself.

I assume trimming the fenders is out of the question?

Thought about the fender trimming, will most likely be going this route and mounting some bushwacker flares.

Do you know if a 2" body lift will go on with out doing steering extension and shifter extension. (no big deal since it comes in the kit anyways)

I didn't have to use any extenders on mine, though it seems reports on that vary somewhat.

Though if the kit does come with them (comes with the steering one for sure, though my 2" kit lacked any others), then go ahead use them if you need them, leave 'em out if not.

Ya that looks like my 92 ranger when I stuffed in the f-150 coils and hadn't made up brackets for the front end yet. I think If I can't find drop brackets for the 8" since the lift seems to have vanished from skyjackers list of available lifts. Then It is going to get the 3" body + the 6" suspension and then fender trim if needed.

you could also customize your TTB arms, bent in the middle, I think there is a write up on here from way back when I had hair on the top of my head...

anyways you should be able to get 36" meats on a 6" lift. Higher isnt always better. I live in the mountains in cali, and the trails I go on are very steep, so low CofG is beneficial (3" lift and cut fenders max).

I think jamesduff was going to try to come out with an 8", dont remember for sure.....

Dont forget to regear!
