My credo
If you can't go through it or around it, then go over it.
Not bad. The only jeeps I like are cj7 and scramblers.

I do like the old CJ's, they are just a neat vehicle.

Dad has an old CJ-2A, we need to get it running yet though.

If you haven't seen Hatari with John Wayne it features a severe torture test of several CJ-6s.

yeah i actually watched hatari again yesterday. i couldnt pass this jeep up. theres estimated to be less than 1000 cj8s left in original condition. im gonna be leaving this one as is because i want to be different and have a stock one. there awesome little wheelers in stock form. well it may get a lock rite in the front. got a 2.5 iron duke, a sr4 4 speed, a dana 300 transfer case, a dana 30 front and an amc 20 rear. i know it got a few weak points but i shouldnt have any problems with that little hampster wheel motor in it.

not bad looking. my buddy had an 84 CJ7 in high school. it spent more time at the shop than on the road though. if i had a jeep, i'd take out all the jeep stuff and replace it with ford so it would actually run

if it had the 258 4.2l the ford 302 would bolt in. this is actually the iron duke 2.5l i plan on keeping it original though. with the exception of some powertrax lock rites. definately has more balls than my 95 2wd rangers had. as for the 2 piece axles that will only be till the snow flies again. ive got a set of forged 1 piece on the way.

When I was growing up in Africa (The Congo and Kenya) we had one of the Scramblers, and we had a Land Rover Defender 90. The Land Rover had the aluminum body and a V8 and they were so cool. Lots of power. We lived in the area they shot the Movie Hatari. The movie was filmed back in '62 and I lived there from 1963-1969. My dad was an AF pilot and flew a lot of missions over there and trained the African AF how to fly strafing missions. When I was in the military I got to go back to Africa 80's several times and got see my old stomping grounds. It was still a beautiful place. My wife and I went last year to Kenya for a week and the place still looks amazing. It really has not changed at all.

The Scrambler was knocked over by a Rhino one day when two of my dad's flight crew went to the river to film the migration of the animals that occurs every year. The Jeep landed upside down in the river. The Jeep got crunched up pretty bad and it still drove!! When we left in 1969 to move to Tampa (Macdill AFB). That Jeep was still running. Having a winch was a life saver to get that Jeep back on all 4 wheels...lol
