I've recently installed a drivers side window motor, switch and gear mechanisim in my '01. The motor, had been rebuilt, all else is new.

It's now operating sporatically, most often getting stuck in the fully closed position. I can here a "click" noise, as if a relay or contact is pulling in, when I unsuccessfully try to lower the window.

Eventually, it will open , but it's getting worse with time.

Is there in fact a relay/contact I'm overlooking? I'd sure rather replace one of those instead of tearing out the door guts again.

My credo
Failing is easy. Everyone can do it.
If memory serves? There is a relay in use for the windows. Quick test would be to run a set of wires from the motor connector to a multi-meter. When it fails to run, or gets 'stuck'? Check the meter to see if the motor is actually getting voltage.

It could also be the fuse with crud on the contacts causing issues as well. (wife had that happen with her Probe and the power streering assit (VSS system) Doggy fuse that made the turn siggys not work right, and the steering assit would work at odd times)

Great, I'll try that. Any thoughts as to where a relay might be located ?
