Found a set of seats from a 2000 Mustang, plain manual buckets. Will these direct bolt in to my '96 std cab ranger with 60/40's??? What about the seats from a 01 Escape? Although these ones looks like they would not. One last question, does my ranger have the wiring harness needed for power seats? A fast reply is much appreciated!!!!

Unless you already have power seats, I do not think it has the harness already there.

I don't think either of those seats would "bolt in", but I don't think it would take much work to make them fit, either.

Lemme ask another question, since the answer to this one is no where to be found. What years explorers/mustangs/escorts seats WILL BOLT IN on my '96 Ranger? The one junk yard is a treasure trove of these vehicles, but good seats are rare do to missing windows/doors or engine componets sitting on the seats. thanx

Wiring them in (at least with the Explorer seats) is just a matter of getting them power from a fused source. There's nothing to it at all.

once again, that page DOES NOT specify what years will bolt in. Does it say that a 02 exp. seats will bolt in? no, thats what Im asking. I assumed a few ppl here has tried various years with or w/o luck.........I cant afford to gamble buying a set of seats and not fit. I already bought a set of wipers arms that wont work........looked exactly the same so I assumed they would work........well I shoulda known better than to ASS-U-ME anything.

Sorry - I read but missed that in the second post . . . not trying to be a smart ass or anything:beer:. But good luck with your search anyway - I will be checking back for a final decision so I will be more informed . . . :icon_thumby:

I just bolted in some 2002 Explorer Sport (2 door) buckets in my dads 2006 extended cab. all you need to do is open up 2 holes in each seat mount, and it'll bolt up to the floor pan. I'll take some pictures tonight.

what about seats from a newer escort, say a zx2 or that style? saw plenty of those around. Im planning to take the tracks of the passenger seat and go root around tomorrow to see what I can get. however it would be nice to know ahead of time cause I dont think the JY will be open for long after I can finally make it there

went to the JY yesterday. took my pass. seat bracket in to compare. everything i came across was either power, trashed or wouldnt work. I only took a ratchet and 10mm socket in (size used to remove my seats) and I came across a cpl ZX2's that looks like it may work, but I couldnt get them out cause I needed a larger socket. guess Im SOL.

ok its always better to use your tracks if they work good but if you need new tracks then measure the tracks from your vehicle from bolt to bolt where they mount to the floor front to back and side to side take your notes and measuring tape to junk yard and measure away if you need just the seat measure were your seats bolt to the tracks if they line up then the seats will work i personally found all mustang seats bolt right to the tracks and is a 30 minuet swap and they are very comfortable if the seats you find have power the power part is part of the track so just throw the power track away and bolt the seat part to your frame as long as the seat has the manual recline
