I have an 01 edge 4x4 the suspension is stock ride height.
The Monroe reflex shocks and sway bar end links were shot, so I upgraded to moog end links. The shocks chose are gabriel max control, a monotube design. I was considering the bilstein 4600 shocks at first but the warranty is what steered me away plus I've read a few weren't happy because they tend to leak but idk how true that is. Anyway the gabriel max control is a nice shock, it does seem more firm than the reflex, plus off road they soak up the rough terrain without any issues such as fading. I gave them a good workout on different farm roads and I'm very impressed. On the street you can tell they work nicely with the moog end links because there is now hardly any body roll when in turns or cornering, the truck now stays flat and feels planted. I know that sounds strange for a 4x4 but this is my daily driver and is mostly kept on road, so to me this setup feels great. As a side note I have owned gabriel ultras in the past and you can not compare these max control shocks to anything gabriel has designed before. If anyone has questions please ask, I'll answer the best I can
