Flickr isn't too bad, I have 1TB for free.99. Not as nice as PB (haven't figured out how to upload into albums yet and you get a bunch of extra crap when you try to embed) but ad free and works pretty good.

Kind of thinking about compiling my previous build photos into a slideshow and put it on youtube. If someone wants something they can wait for it, I can't get too excited about reanimating 50+ pages of build thread and trying to figure out what goes where.

I'm still trying to figure out my own website. I bought a couple domains from namecheap. They have a special for the ".racing" domains. I bought 5 years worth for ~$8.00, alwaysfloored.racing. I thought it was perfect. There is a list of other new domains ranging in price from $0.67/year and up to thousands. Now I'm trying to figure out Amazon Web Services, they reportedly cost under $1.00/month if there isn't much traffic. I don't expect much lol.

Just use Imgur lol.

Y'all are making such a fuss out of nothing. I have my own website and tons of space on my host, but I just Imgur. It's easier.

Finding a host is easy.

Redoing 10 years worth of links is not. I can totally get why people would want to host their own to not have to deal with it again (hopefully) Flickr and imgur work great now but a month ago so did photobucket...

My build thread I started in 2011 now has two pictures in it. :annoyed:

Honestly photobucket was shit way back then too. I don't know why anyone even used it.

But yeah, I feel your pain. I used it for a little bit before I wised up.

Imgur has no linking in their TOS already, so they could pull your plug at any time. That's the reason I switched to PB in the first place. FML.

Why? Because they're cool? Nobody thought photobucket would do it. And imgur has been trying really hard lately to get rid of the perception that they are the image host for reddit.

Photobucket fix...but for how long?

Firefox extension to fix photobucket;

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/photobucket-embedded-fix/?src=search https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/photobucket-embedded-fix/?src=search

Chrome extension to fix photobucket;

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/photobucket-embed-fix/naolkcpnnlofnnghnmfegnfnflicjjgj?hl=en

Who knows how long these will work. Perhaps you should now fix your original thread to show pics from another source.

Good job. I hope you don't mind, but I merged the (2) posts and basically combined the titles in to (1) sticky to try and reduce the number of stickies and keep it all in (1) topic.

This.
Photobucket could very easily break 3rd-party browser add-ons like that too if they want to.

I recommend everyone forget about photobucket entirely. Without a reversal of that asinine policy, I suspect they will vanish here completely pretty shortly. The $400 crap only shows it is nothing more than greed running amok when others offer full (paid) plans for FAR less than that.
They could've easily began auto-resizing everyone's pics smaller as they're uploaded (and provide a link to the original that can only be accessed from within the PB site for those who want to see it) if their goal was to reduce server bandwidth usage. But instead they simply decided to blackmail and screw everyone.

I've been using supermotors.net since most of my stuff relates to vehicles in some form or another. They've been around a long time and for the most part have been pretty reliable. Only thing is they do mark your pics (if linked 3rd-party) with their logo.

Love Thy Neighbor
I added the Chrome fix but didn't check it until just now...I opened my old Oil Catch can thread and the one image I clicked on came up no problem...but now my browser is wonky and will need to close it and open it again to clear up the mess...

I do have photos stored in Facebook account and a few others (Mac iCloud or whatever) but none of them are easy to share photos...might try Imagur later today if I remember...

Not that I have a great need to share photos much these days...that's why I was asking about sharing on TRS...but it seems the cost would be prohibitive without charging membership fees for anyone who wanted to do it that way...and then there is the issue of transporting everything if the site needed to be moved...
