Just wanted to share real quick:

Was leaving work today and noticed (mid 90's model but not entirely sure) a Ford Ranger being used by U.S. Air Force Law Enforcement to patrol the base.

Kinda made me a little more proud to be an owner.

Wish I had been quick enough to snap a pic...maybe next time.

Cheers,
Chris

From a US Army Vet and I am currently proudly serving on an ambulance service. (21 years saving lives) My 2001 Ford Ranger is an emergency response vehicle. 33" tires, 6" total lift, after market ram air intake, and equipped with emergency lights. Hooah!

The local Air Force Base is a Depot Maintenance Facility, AKA we overhaul airplanes. A very large portion of the parts runner trucks we have are Rangers. I really need to start hitting the DRMO to see if any of them make it in there. The things probably only see 5 miles a day max, bodies and interiors are in excellent condition. The low usage probably isn't good for the engines, but they would probably be excellent candidates for V8 swaps or Turbo 4s.

Postal Service had lotsa Rangers...

The Vehicle Maintenance Facility I worked out of had one for parts running and they had a bunch assigned to the MSP airport postal facility that only went on the street when they needed gas.
