Auto to standard transmission

I just swaped the auto for a standard but know the starter will not ingauge.Do i need to hook up the wires on the right side and to what do i hook them to?Is there a neutrial switch if so how do i bypass the little guy?

The wires on the right side of what??? Also, is that right as in direction or right as in correct?

i was told that the auto trans and manual trans use diffrent starters. did you get a starter for a manual trans?

Not on the 1st gens. The 2.9 uses a 8 2/3" fly wheel and flex plate.

The 4.0 kept the 8 2/3 flex plates for the autos but jumped to a 10" flywheel for the manuals.
