You will also need exhaust

Check radiator hose connections, may be reversed

Air filter box, MAF and air tube to intake

Fuel lines at engine will be different

2.3l engine bay has a cross bar for drivers side motor mount, it needs to be removed

Sounds like a workable plan.

Things like a/c, power steering, throttle and cruise cables along with driveshaft might be bits best not forgotten.

Does the '97 use a std key, or a chipped key? Running afoul of PATS could complicate things if it gets involved.

Ranger V6's didn't get PATS until 1999
4cyl got it 2001.5 when new Duratec 2.3l engine/computer was added

Have read about late 1998 V6 having it but never confirmed

1997 V6 should be no-PATS for sure
