Ill see if I can get pics of the BII setup next week. Its laying in the scrap pile now.lol FYI even with a skid plate...the tank can get smashed.lol
But it's less likely to get punctured than where the tank is now with no skid plate.

I already have a sending unit assembly from a 90 b2 that I bought with the tank. Reason I was asking is they are different part numbers between the B2 and ranger.

I think in 90 they still had a low pressure pump in the tank, and a high pressure on the frame rail. So I would put the Ranger pump on the BII sending unit for sure. IIRC the BII pump goes in at a 45* angle in the front, so the Ranger sending unit is different for sure. I would plug the BII pump/sending unit in to the Ranger harness before you even tear into it....this way you can see if the float will play nice with the Ranger cluster.

Did you get a BII skid with the tank? I think the one I have is ok still, but I would have to check.

That's a good idea.

I'm just going to make one. I have some 3/8" plate that's big enough but might be to heavy

Here is an update to what I've been up to lately.

I did the 2000 SD power steering pump swap. It's a 100% bolt in swap and it seems to turn much easier at a stop.
Also in the process of a B2 fuel tank swap. I started the tear down...

But the sending unit was on backorder and won't be here in time for me to make a trip to Badlands this weekend. So i put it all back together for now.

Then yesterday I saw an add on one of the for sale groups on Facebook. Text the guy about it, went to look at it today. He wanted $1200, I offered 1k

2001 Limited, fully loaded, 5.0, awd, 104k miles.
The bad- transmission is shot, huge exhaust leak at the manifold, muffler rusted out, only driver window switch works for the doors, slight tear in driver seat, rear wiper doesn't work.
The good- 5.0, fully loaded, new everything, regularly maintained, and low miles.

Whats the plan for the Exploder? SAS and doubler or just an organ donor?

As of now the plan is to make it my family wheeler in place of the ranger. The ranger will still be mine but my son will be driving it.
Thinking d30 swap, 35's, and t-case swap.

I didnt get much pics on my phone, but did get almost 2 hours of goPro video that is still need to edit.

Had a hell of a great time and can't wait to do it again despite me breaking something. (See my build thread)
