on my 86 bronco2 i did a 4.0 engine swap I also swapped the wiring harness along with the dash out of an 91 explorer Until now everything has worked great now sometimes when i'm driving down the road the fuel pump will shut off and the truck will die I know it's the pump cause when i turn the key off and on again i don't hear the pump come on as i normally do but when i go back to where the wiring harness pluges into the fuel pump on top of the gas tank and unplug it and then plug it back in the fuel pump will start working again I thinking that it might be a bad ground What do you guys think any sugestions will be helpful

Are the pins in the connectors in the fuel pump in good condition? How about the wiring? Is the front pump running (if you still have one, saw you did a 4.0 swap)?

Fuel Pump

Have you checked the Fuel Pump Relay, Or do you have one on yours. You probably had a mechanical pump before and went to electric.? I am not sure which years the electric pumps were being installed in tank.

OK I didnt see where you said when you unplug and plug back in that it will work. (I feel kinda stupid at times)
