Just hit 200k Miles...Maintenance?

Just hit 200k miles on my 1995 Ford Ranger that I've had since 2003 when I bought it with 48k miles on it. It was my first vehicle that I bought when I was 16 and while I'm planning to replace it, that probably won't happen for another year or two.

I'm going to do a front end refresh soon (new tie rod dust covers, new radius arm bushings, new coils, new shocks all around). Clutch was replaced at 130k, timing belt has been replaced a couple times (I forgot when the last time was but it's on the truck, pretty sure it won't need it for a bit).

I also need to put a new fuel filler neck on so I can fill it up all the way again, but other than that it's solid.

Anything else I should consider doing to it? I'd like to do things that'll keep it nice for me for the next year or two and also make it more appealing for the next owner of this beast.

I would check the tires. 152,000 miles in 11 years .... might be time to rotate them. LOL

Good stuff...

I'd poke around at the frame...especially the shackles at the rear of the springs...and the area just below the fuel filler...where it starts to rise up over the rear axle...

If you find some surface rust you might want to consider removing the bed completely when you do the filler tube and take a good wire wheel to it...the ones on a grinder are better than the ones for a drill...

Other than that...check the cooling system...hoses rot out and it would be a good time to refresh the coolant if it hasn't been done recently...also check the brake lines and/or refresh the brake fluid if you find any serious rust on them...a bit more challenging but can be done with those one-man bleeder kits.
