I have a 91 4.0, it has the notorious tick when the oil is cold, I wanted to change the pushrods and rockers, I've been looking online at kits, how do I know witch ratio to buy? Any help would be great!

Fuel injectors can make "ticking" noises

But to answer the question stock is 1.5:1 ratio, you can go with 1.7:1 or 1.8:1 and get a little more air thru the engine, no other changes are needed if you decide to do that, it doesn't change the dwell just opens valves a bit more.

You do have to pull the heads to get all the lifters out, just FYI, and the lifters are most likely the issue, a few broken check valves and springs.

Where are you getting 1.7 or 1.8 rockers for a 4.0L? All I've seen is stock which I though were 1.5:1 or those crazy expensive Morana rockers which are a 1.8:1 ratio.

I don't think it's the lifters, the colder the day the longer the tick lasts, when it's real warm out, like in the 90's it will only last five minutes or so, and it takes a few minutes for it to start, once the oil is warm it completely goes away
