So, I have a 94 4.0 truck as a doner, truck that is getting fixed is setup for a 01 ish 3.0.
Is there any way to use the newer model dash/gauges or am I going to have to go aftermarket with all the gauges?
Allso, Has anyone ever thinned a 94s harness down to just what it needs to run?

'01 still had analog dash, electronic speedo was only difference from 1994, and the 1994 trans will have the electronic speedo hook up(VSS), it just used it for cruise and computer in '94, not speedometer/odometer

Voltage
Oil
Temp
Fuel
Tach
Were the same analog gauges, in '94/'01

may or may not have Oil Level on '94

No car maker ran extra wires, maybe a few for manual vs automatic, but not in the engine.

4.0l will use EDIS-6 module for spark, usually located on the rad support, front, drivers side.
That did have 8-10 wires, but all are needed
1994 fuel injection may only have 3 wires, but could have 7, if it has a Cam sensor it will have 7, and cam sensor adds 3
Temp will be 1 wire sender, so will oil pressure switch
ECT sensor 2 wires
IAC Valve 2 wires
TPS 3 wires
IAT(air temp) 2 wires
MAF 4 wires
O2's, only 2 of these, 4 wires each, make SURE you don't reverse these wires, easy to do, engine will run like do-do

Coil pack, 4 wires is part of EDIS system's 8-10 wires, as it tach and CKP(crank position) sensor 3 wires to EDIS
