I have a complete 96 Explorer and I'm about to swap everything into my 97 Ranger. All of the wiring is all plug n play correct? Ranger is a 3.0 with an auto. Just want to have my ducks in a row before I get started. I've found plenty of info for swapping into the 98-up trucks just no real definitives for the wiring into 95-97's.

Yes, should be very straight forward.

No PATS to deal with
Speed sensor(VSS) for both should be on the transfer case
Both used 30-40psi fuel system, return line
