We'll it's time for a clutch for my 87 2 wheel drive. Its a 302 with a t5. Currently has a Nissan slave in it now. I've put about 10 thousand miles on that current set up. Works ok but I'd like a little more peddle than what it's got. Have to push clear to floor and only has about half inch before engaged. Took a lot of adjusting and readjusting and refab work but it's been reliable. Just wondering if anyone has or knows of a better set up? Truck was built on a super cheap budget now it's time to rework some things a little better. Also is there a clutch that's easier to engage or is that all in my slave'master cylinder setup?

The datsun slave with all thread rod is what people do. They adjust the rod to put more preload, which is what is needed anyways, on the clutch.

Probably the very best option is to mod the clutch lever to move the slave cylinder's "push" point inward. It'll make the clutch pedal heavier, but will get move movement out of the release bearing for the same movement of the slave cylinder.

Other option is to move to a larger bore clutch master cylinder, but finding one that fits (or can be made to fit) can be a challenge.
