Hello!
I am new to the site, but I have a 1992 Ford Ranger 3.0 (Automatic)...Recently the engine was rebuilt (only 5000 miles on it) and everything under the hood has just about been replaced. The transmission was rebuilt about 60000 miles ago. The truck has about 280000 miles on it total.
Any time the truck has been sitting and has had an opportunity to cool off, when I try to go anywhere and put the vehicle in gear and start to push the gas, the truck sputters out (lights dim and truck stops running). I go to start it back up, and I have to attempt several times to get it back running...
Eventually, (After it cuts out 3-4 times and I get it running again) I can drive it with no issues. This will happen regardless if I let it warm up (5-10 min) or drive it cold. It seems to have to go through the gears and have a load on the engine before it will no longer have issues.
I was wondering if anyone would have any idea what would cause this issues and before I take it to a shop, I would like to have an idea of what may be going on. I am semi familiar with everything on the truck as I assisted with the rebuild process...
I appreciate ANY response!
Thank you!
