i think its booster prob but not sure, power bakes seem to be working fine, but when i press the brake pedal it sucks down a little ways and then there is a hiss under the dash like a vac leak, but when pedal comes back up it goes away. so is it the booster or is there a seal that just need replaced?

thanks for any help

I put in a booster from what I thought was a 92 Ranger...it is the same bolt pattern and pedal rod length...so 89 should also work...

only difference is some have a 4" body that can stick out farther and may be in the way of something...mine just barely clears the accelerator cable and I actually had to bend the bracket for the accelerator a bit to stop it from whaching the booster on rough idle...

I'm pretty sure the master cylinders all used the same bolt pattern with the exception of manual brakes...up to 92 anyway...
